Let’s Make Some Noise!

Fifth graders recently wrapped up their sound unit in science. Of course, the best way to learn about anything is to play with it! They used many of the tools in Google’s Chrome Music Lab to manipulate sound.

Chrome Music Lab is a collection of Chrome Experiments that allows students to make noise, and visualize what happens when sounds change. There are so many to play with, but here are a few that our fifth graders used along with the associated grade-level science concepts.

? Spectrogram (Frequency): https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Spectrogram/

? Strings (Pitch): https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Strings/

? Oscillators (Frequency and Pitch): https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Oscillators/

You don’t have a fifth grader? That doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the fun! People of all ages will have a great time using these and other Chrome Music Lab experiments. Who knows, you might even learn something!
