Student Service Council News ~ March 2017

This month, the Student Service Council joined with our PBIS team to present Kindness Week. The snow
stayed away long enough for all students to practice acts of kindness all week. Students earned kindness links for
these acts and at our assembly we linked all of our chains together so we could “see” all the kindness at Tashua. The
chain went easily around the entire gym! We also raised $195.00 for Save the Children which will help children in
need around the world. We read books about kindness and shared kindness quotes, too.
We are already hard at work preparing for our week of reading and Dr. Seuss’s birthday (Bedtime Stories
Day) on March 2nd. We will also hold our annual new and gently used book drive that week. We donate our books to
Read to Grow Connecticut so please feel free to bring children’s books (please no adult books, cookbooks, or badly
damaged books) to the bins in the lobby beginning at the end of February. Thank you for your support!
