December 2014

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Tis’ the season for teaching our students how to show compassion and generosity for others. With your help, and the organization of our Student Council, we will be sponsoring a Holiday Helpers project again this year. Doing community service projects such as this one, our students learn the importance of caring for others and it also helps them to appreciate all that they have themselves. Too often, we go about our daily lives forgetting about how truly fortunate we are.

snowThis is also a good time of year to set traditions with your family. Each year, I bake over 1,500 cookies with my boys. The day after Thanksgiving, we take out our cookie book and choose 12 different cookies to complete, “The 12 days of Baking”. Then we make a list of people we would like to bake cookies for to help brighten their holiday season. The size of the family determines how many cookies will be on their tray (a little math is involved too). My boys look forward to this tradition every year and it helps us to all stay focused on what really is important during the holiday season; spending time together as a family and caring for others.

I hope you will be able to join me for Coffee & Conversation on Wednesday, December 18th at 8:45 a.m. in the cafeteria. I would love to hear all that you value about Tashua School and have you share your ideas for the future.

Soon it will be time for our LONG winter break. During this time off it is important that students take time to continue reading, writing, and practicing their math facts. Make learning fun by tying it into your daily routine so students understand the importance of education.

I wish you and your families a happy and healthy holiday season! I look forward to working with you 2015!

Happy Holidays!

Mrs. Neumeyer,

Principal
