A Note from Music! – October 2015

Clipboard_20150915 (2)October has arrived! This month in music will be filled with songs and activities centered around Autumn as well as covering each grade level’s essential concepts to keep students successful throughout the school year. We’ll even get a little spooky as Halloween approaches! The 5th graders will also begin preparation for concert season. The Winter Concert will be Tuesday, December 15th at 7:00pm so please mark your calendars.

October also marks the beginning of the Tashua GLEE Club! The GLEE club meets for afterschool enrichment on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30 and is open to ALL 5th and 4th grade students. Each session of GLEE club includes learning and choreographing four different contemporary pop and rock songs as well as a performance at the end! Spots are limited so hurry up and get your sign up forms in to your classroom teacher.

In the meantime, here’s a great October song you can sing at home to the tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”

October brings us Hallowe’en,
A spooky time, it’s true,
When Jack-O’Lantern’s flaming eyes
Seem like they’re watching you!

The black cat’s howling at the moon,
A witch goes flying by;
And in the distance you can hear
A goblin’s mournful cry.

October brings us Hallowe’en,
A spooky time, it’s true,
Be careful or, before you know,
A ghost will scare you… BOO!

Happy October,

Tyler Cohen
