A Note From Music – January 2016

Happy New Year Tashua! With the arrival of 2016 brings some wonderful musical activities! Our Kindergarten students will be playing percussion instruments to accompany songs and games. First grade is going to be playing melodies on the xylophones. Second grade’s activities are getting more challenging as they are learning to identify notes and rests. Third grade will be preparing to play recorders. Fourth grade’s complex rhythms will be applied to a variety of instruments as we’ll be working in multiple parts. Lastly, fifth grade’s new music will be ready to start preparing for the spring concert! Such a wonderfully musical way to begin the year!

I hope everyone’s Holidays were happy and restful!

Keep Singing!!!

Notes From the Band

Congratulations to all of Tashua School’s musicians for a fantastic Winter Concert! Especially exciting this year was the combining of the chorus and band for Winter Wonderland. What an awesome job they did together!

In January, we have open enrollment for band, so anyone who would like to join can sign up this month. Registration forms will be going home soon, so if you’ve been thinking about joining the band, now’s the time! We have need for more flutes and trumpets, so if that’s what you would like to play- even better!

We are looking forward to a great Spring Concert, and are already working on new songs. Practice makes Perfect!
