5th Grade Service Project

We’re excited to share with you this year’s 5th Grade service project.

Our goal is to rally our students to be a part of Project Linus, an organization created to provide hand-made blankets to seriously ill, traumatized or needy children.

We are hoping that each student will contribute in two ways:

  • by offering a nominal donation (boxes will be placed in each 5th grade classroom)

  • by donating their time after school to make the blankets (with supervision)

The more “blanketeers” we can get involved, the more successful our efforts will be.  There are two blanket-making sessions scheduled in the cafeteria from 3:30-5pm on 4/30 (Thursday) and 5/6 (Wednesday).  We hope to see as many of our 5th graders there as possible — many hands make light work!

If you would like to learn more about Project Linus, the website is www.projectlinus.org.

Please encourage your 5th graders to participate as much as possible, by contributing a small donation to cover the cost of materials (perhaps chore money or allowance for the week?), participating in one or both blanket-making sessions, or all of the above!

Thanks so much for your support & encouragement!
