P.E. ~ MS. GIBSON ~ December 2017

Students in grades K-2 have been working on personal and social responsibility. Students have been
learning how to play fairly and follow the rules. We’ve been learning about consequences if rules are
broken. Included in that are safety issues, people’s feelings being hurt, and games not working properly.
The following are some of the games that the students have played, Oscar the Grouch, Fire Tag, Turkey
Tag, and Thanksgiving Feast.
Students in grades 3-5 have also been working on being responsible. With the upper grades we take an in
depth look at how each individual can contribute to the class. We talk about how it is the responsibility of
each student to look out for themselves and others to make the class greater. Students in these classes are
able to utilize the, “Conflict Corner” of the gym. This is the place where the students can discuss and then
resolve a conflict that happens within the class. Some of the games that these classes have been playing
are Escape the Dungeon, Boom City, Pizza Tag, and Extreme Gaga Ball.
