How to support your mathematician with an online resource
Have you ever tried to help your child with his or her math homework only to hear, “That’s not how my teacher does it!” You may be wondering how you can support your child with math homework at home when the strategies your children are learning in school are different from the way we were taught. The good news is there is an online resource called LearnZillion. LearnZillion is a helpful website with short math strategy videos you and your child may watch at home.
The math content on LearnZillion aligns with the Common Core State Standards, as well as, the strategies presented in our Investigations math units of study. The videos were developed by expert math teachers and are a great way for students to review content learned in class. Videos are typically about 3-5 minutes long.
To access the website you will use a lesson code (Quick Code) which will provide a link to a video. You may explore the video codes below that support current math content for each grade level:
