Importance of Attendance

Just as a reminder The Trumbull Public Schools attendance policy can be found on The Trumbull Public School website: 5113.1/Attendance Grades K-8.  It is crucial that students attend school on a regular basis and on time.  When students are absent from school and arrive late/leave early, they are missing out on academic opportunities that are critical to their success.

The Connecticut General Statutes, Sections 10-184, 10-186, and 10-210, require students over five (5) and under eighteen (18) years of age to attend school on a regular basis. The primary responsibility for adherence to regular attendance rests with the student’s parent/guardian and the individual student.

Please read the Trumbull Public Schools, attendance policy 5113.1/Attendance Grades K-8.  Please review the guidelines for what is considered excused vs. unexcused absences.  Please feel free to reach out if there are any further questions or if you are experiencing any difficulty with getting your child to school.
